Mr & Mrs Murphy, asked The Clyde Paving Team, if it was possible for us to put some life, colour and charm back into the lifeless muddy space at the rear of the Murphy family home in the Kelvindale area of Glasgow, as it was looking sad and in a rather dull & poor state.
Time To Calculate & Plan Out The Project
We discovered that this project would need a lot of co-operation, imagination, skill and time to get the rear outdoor space looking like a place the family can spend their evenings having fun in again.
Drainage & Wall Foundation
The first and most important part of any paving project is the drainage and foundation work, Installing the best drainage solution to any project is always the first task, without proper drains the project can be a complete failure and lead to severe flooding problems later into the contract.
Linear channel drains & the retaining barrier wall foundation are first put in place.
Bradstone Landscape Walling
Our client, asked the team' to create a wall with colour & style, so we decided to face the dense block retaining barrier wall with, Bradstone's golden sand walling, Also we installed a new solid & safe staircase to provide access to the upper lawned & paved area's of the garden.
Replacing the patio door steps
On this project we took the old single step at the front of the patio doors out and replaced it with a new double set installed to a much more comfortable height to step out onto, "see picture 1" much lower and more difficult to step out onto.
Selecting A Suiltable Paving Surface
Mr Murphy, had a look at the fab selection of paving styles & products on offer in our brochures and decided that the look & hard wearing quality's of natural sandstone was the perfect choice for the family's rear patio surface area's.
Wall Step And Paving Perfect
The walling, steps and paving have now come together to show perfectly formed rectangles & squares and straight neat lines, the colour has arrived through the variations of shades of the Natural Sandstone tiles.
A Wonderful Rear Garden Makeover
The house now has a great enclosed outdoor rear patio space that feels like its been part of the house for years, A Big thanks to all the Murphys for all their input, help and patience, the Clyde Paving team know you will enjoy having fun out there for years to come.
Add The Finishing Touches
Look at the wonderful selection of potted plants, and the bench Mr Murphy selected, a superb bench of natural wooden material, together with an outstanding patio table and chairs set, it has just matched & enhanced the whole paving project in style and warmth.
